Limits of DVD-RAM support in 8.6?
I own a Toshiba DVD-RAM drive (SCSI) and I would like to write to DVD-RAM-Medium. In Linux 2.2.9 I can read this medium without problems by using the CDROM-driver (The drive identificates itself as CDROM-drive). When I try to write to the medium, I get "READ ONLY FILESYSTEM" as error message.

I've taken a closer look mat Dantz's Support Forum. Seems that folks with Matshita DVD-RAM drives have been having trouble right from the start with Retrospect 5. I was about to tell you that it's your drive/media. I use Retrospect Express 5 in OS X to backup to a Fuji DVD-RAM disk every night.

... ate/cdrecord.html DVD-RAM should work like DVD-R. Cdrecord can be used to write DVD-R. = The rewrite features for the DVD-RAM may not be support. It _is_ wrong... DVD-RAM is not DVD from my view. It has nothing in common with DVD-R except the 12 cm disk size. No usual DVD Player will play it.
